The Minister for Youth, Sports and Arts in Buganda Kingdom Owek.Robert Sserwanga has confirmed that this year’s Masaza Cup final will be held on 2nd November at Mandela National Stadium.

“I want to assure everyone that we shall have our final on 2nd November at Mandela National Stadium. On that very day we shall have two games played, the third place and final. We decided Namboole because it’s the venue that can accommodate us.” Confirmed Sserwanga

Owek. Sserwanga also revealed the fees for the games with ordinary tickets Shs20000, VIP 50000 and VVIP Shs100000.

Speaking on behalf of main sponsors Airtel Joseph Musoke, the Project Manager asserted

“On 2nd November, I call upon all Ugandans to come and be there. As Airtel, we shall continue working with Buganda to identify and nurture talent in Masaza.” Said Musoke

The development sees the final return to Uganda’s football cathedral for the first time since 2019 when Bulemeezi beat Busiro in the previous final at the venue.

Namboole has previously hosted the (2015 Ssingo Vs Buddu), (2016 Buddu Vs Gomba), (2017 Gomba Vs Ssingo), (2018 Ssingo Vs Buddu), (2019 Bulemeezi Vs Busiro) finals.

When Namboole was under refurbishment, the previous final editions (2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023) have been held at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende and Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku respectively.

Meanwhile, the return legs of the semi-finals will be played on Sunday, 13th October. Two times champions Buddu won their first leg 3-1 away to Kyaddondo while Kyaggwe ended Buweekula’s unbeaten run with 2-1 home win to take a slim advantage over 2012 and 2021 runners up.
