The MP for Nakawa East Constituency, Hon. Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo, challenged children to use education as a weapon to succeed in the world, helping them advance in their future.

He mentioned this during the launch of the Little Miss Uganda Ambassador, Queen Maha Nakisobo’s project, “Nature of the Future Initiative,” which is aimed at promoting and nurturing children’s talents, enhancing education, and teaching children about the love for their environment.

Hon. Balimwezo noted that it is only through education that a person can reach places they never expected. Education does not discriminate based on appearance, family background, or culture it is solely about qualifications.

However, Hon. Balimwezo encouraged parents to do their best to educate their children, as schools play a crucial role in identifying their talents and supporting their future. He expressed that parents who fail to send their children to school are often blamed for contributing to the high crime rates, particularly robbery, in the country.

In the same vein, the Mayor of Nakawa Division, Paul Mugambe, appreciated parents who have successfully identified and supported their children’s talents, emphasizing the benefits of such support. He encouraged them not only to identify these talents but also to help develop them. He also donated 100,000 shillings towards Maha’s project.

The Resident Director of Train up a Child Nursery and Primary School Bugoloobi, Getrude Zawadde, expressed her appreciation for the Little Miss Uganda management’s efforts to support and develop children’s talents. However, she requested that they adjust their programs to schedule activities for the little ones on weekends or during holidays, allowing them to fully participate while also attending school.

Robinah Nanfuka, a children’s presenter at Mama FM and a mentor for the Little Miss Queens, encouraged children to discover their abilities so that their parents can know where to begin in supporting them.

She urged children to use their abilities to assist others who need support. “You don’t have to help because you are special, but help because others need it,” she emphasized.

Queen Maha Nakisobo views this project as a platform to ensure that children are in school and to help others identify and develop their talents so they can shine and benefit from them. Many children have succeeded because of their talents, with several receiving educational scholarships as a result.

Hon Balimwezo pledged to support Queen Maha in her project journey and as well support Ganda Hebrew Women Foundation where Maha is an Ambassador.

The Nurture the Future Initiative is supported by the Ganda Hebrew Women Foundation, the Rotaract Club of Avance International University, Rotaract Kampala Wandegeya, Kiwatule Recreation Centre, among others.
