Police, Express shares spoils at Kavumba.

Two draws opened up Match Day 5 of the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday at Kavumba Recreation Grounds and Lugazi stadium respectively.

At Kavumba visitors Express Football Club were disappointed they walked away with 2-2 draw against hosts Police FC.

This came about after the Simon Peter Mugerwa coached side scored late to secure a point through their Isaac Ogwang in the additional minutes of the game.

Two players Ogwang and Red Eagle Sam Ssenyonjo managed to net a brace in the game

Ogwang scored the opening goal three minutes past the half hour mark to settle first stanza with 1-0 in favour of Police Football Club.

Three minutes after restart, Express Football Club managed to get the equaliser through their forward Sam Ssenyonjo after good assist by Sunday Andabati.

With Eleven (11) minutes to the 90, Ssenyonjo completed his brace to give Express FC an edge before Ogwang too did the same through the spot to make it 2-2 in the third minute of added time.

This was Ogwang’s third goal of the campaign while it was Ssenyonjo’s fourth in five matches.

With in the same game, immediately after the departure of Mustafa Kizza Express needed a new Left back and Herbert Achai suprised many when he made his debut for Express Football Club at Kavumba.

On to the Log, Police move up to 7th with 7 points while Express are third with 8.

In their next games, Police will take short trip to Kitende to face Vipers on 25th October while Express are to host Lugazi at the Hamz stadium on 22nd October 2024.

In Najjembe, Lugazi and Mbale Heroes shared spoils with 1-1 draw after two first half goals from either side.

Gideon Entou for the surgeons of Mbale Heroes opened the scoring ten minutes into the game before Derrick Mwanje in 35th minute.
