CECAFA U15 winners returned home safely.

A contingent of 23 people was received by the FUFA deputy CEO in charge of football development Decolas Kiiza at Entebbe International Airport who led them to a dinner at Jevine Hotel in Ndeeba where they were addressed by the federation president Eng. Moses Magogo.

The boys were also given a ball and a playing boot each in apreciation for the glamorious victory achived.

The U15 heroes staged a fabulous performance in the championship to win the crown unbeaten.

The lads started the campaign from Group B which comprised of five teams.

Group B leaders (Uganda) beat Ethiopia (3-0), Tanzania (2-0), South Sudan (5-0) before the last group 3-0 triumph against Rwanda to gather twelve (12) points, scoring ten and conceded no goal.

In the knockout, they clushed Burundi 6-0 in the semi finals to set up a final tie against region arch rivals Kenya. Uganda outclassed Kenya with a 4-0 victory to be crown champions.

Uganda’s Travis Mutyaba was the most instrumental figure in the team despite her unlucky run to miss the MVP award to an Ethiopian. Abas Kyeyune, (Uganda) was the tournament’s top goal scorer with nine (9) netted in six matches.

Uganda scored the most goals (23) and conceded none in the six games played.

Kenya led group A on a goal difference advantage having tied with Burundi on ten (10) points.

In the semi final stage, Kenya labored to win Rwanda 4-2 after penalties following a one all normal time draw.
