URA has today declared the Taxpayers Appreciation Month (TPAM) an initiative to recognize and appreciate taxpayers.

During this month, a number of taxpayers are recognized across the country and free services in the form of corporate social responsibility are provided to the public in the grand finale week at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala.

The Taxpayers Appreciation Month (TPAM) will be under the theme: Every Taxpayer Counts!

Last year, the event attracted over 370 exhibitors (170 MDAs and 200 taxpayers) and over 35,000 participants from the public.

In order to increase the visibility and support to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), who constitute a big portion of the economy, this year’s TPAM will focus SMEs which contribute over 25% of Uganda’s total Gross Domestic Product(GDP) and employ the majority of Ugandans.

During the month, several compliant SMEs countrywide will be visited and appreciated by Uganda Revenue Authority management including an opportunity to exhibit at no cost at Kololo.

This year’s TPAM seeks to build the fundamental change that can result in a stronger taxpaying culture.
