Six flagged off for the Inaugural African Air Badminton Championship.

As Uganda set to take part in the Inaugural African Air Badminton Championships which will take place in Mauritius between 14th and 17th November 2024.

With two days to Shuttle off, six 6 Athletes and coach was flagged off at Sharing Hall Nsambya by Uganda Badminton Association Vice Chairperson Hajji Muhammad Sserugo.

The flag off ceremony occurred on Sunday 10th November 2024 which having Uganda Augustus Owinyi, Mustafa Lubega, Olivia Nakajja, Malha Musa, Sharifah Mbabazi, Kadoli Fred under the custody of Coach William Kabindi.

Air Badminton is different from the usual badminton which is played indoor and one designed to create opportunities for people of all ages and ability to play badminton on hard, grass and sand surfaces in parks, gardens, streets, playgrounds and beaches around the world.

Therefore to the players, it’s something new and one that they were open to learn with help of the team’s head coach William Kabindi.
