KCCA Land and servey offices to be closed next week.

The Ministry of lands, Housing and Urban development has made the temporary closure of the KCCA land registry and land Administration offices with effect from 23rd to 26th September 2019.

Since March, 2013 the Ministry of lands, Housing and urban Development has been implementing and updating the versions of software being used in the land information system (LIS). The system updates have been completed for all the other MZO registries apart from KCCA, Mukono and Wakiso.

The honorable Minister of lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon Minister Amongi Betty Ongom regret for the inconveniences that will arise due to the closure of the offices.

“As the ministry we regret any inconveniences that will arise due to the closure of the Land Registry and Land Administration department offices, and we assure the public that we are untended to improve and better the services of the KCCA Land Registry”, Amongi asserted this in the press conference held at media centre in Kampala today 13th September 2019.

“The closure applies to services of the Ministry of lands housing and urban development housed at KCCA and does not affect the services offered by the Directorate of physical planning of KCCA”, Betty Amongi noted.

The Ministry of Lands, housing and urban development and KCCA now inform clients and the general public that the process of updating the LIS at the KCCA MZO shall run for two weeks from 16th to 26th September 2019.

From 16th to 23rd September 2019 ,the KCCA survey and Mapping sections of the MZO will be discontinued in preparation for the upgrade but all other services shall be available to the public.

However, the KCCA land Registry, KCCA Surveys and mapping sections, and the KCCA land offices shall be closed to the public for the duration of four days beginning on 23rd up to 26th September 2019, to enable the carrying out of crucial system up- grades of the LIS, which cannot be done while the offices are open to the public.

What is important to note, the 4- days period of closure (23rd to 26th September), shall be no transactions, received or registered of land titles, mapping and surveying in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono.
