Warm wolcome for the Uganda deaf Athletics team from Nairobi.

Jennifer Nyakato writes a record for Uganda as she won gold medal in 800m in the Africa Athletic championship of deaf held in Nairobi Kenya.

The championship held from 16th – 21 st September 2019 at Nairobi Kenya, where Nyakato Jennifer and Odura Andrew made wonders after winning three medals in Africa nations deaf championship 2019.

The team consisted of three participants, Nyakato Jennifer, who won gold medal in 800m and sliver medal in 1500m, Odura Andrew who won bronze medal in juvaling and the coach.

Nyakato while addressing the media for she said.

“I promised two gold medals but I managed to get one and I thank God for what I managed to achieve and I thank the Uganda Deaf Federation, NCS ,Uganda Athletics federation for the financial support given to us and I dedicate all these medals to my coach because he has done a lot for us to attain these medals”.

However, Afande Andrew Sorowen welcomes back the medalist and encourages the coach to increase give them tips because they are a still young and Uganda needs people like them to represent in other tournaments.

Uganda in the deaf championship participated in ranked in the number six in all Africa.
