Enduro Uganda Club have championed a campaign to raise funds to buy an Ambulance on Sunday, September 29, at Victoria track in Garuga.

Several drivers and riders have confirmed participation in solidarity at 6th round of the National Mountain Dew MX Championship for this noble cause.

According to Enduro Club president, Mr.Tendo Mutale, he revealed that though the organizers, they will do everything possible to stop accidents. He added that they need ambulances to save lives and that some that are hired have missing kits for instance neck and cervical collars that are very crucial for injuries.

“We don’t need the so-called Ambulance that cannot provide the required services but one that can be used as a moving hospital, said Mutale.

“It is the reason why we need UGX 110 Million to have one for the motorsport fraternity which caters for drivers, administrators and the fans. It is the reason we call upon all the motor sport lovers to come and support the cause.” he added.

Over 60 drivers and about  50 riders with MX 50 junior and Senior, MX 65, MX 85, MX 25,  MX1 and MX 2, have promised to power their machines to the fullest in order to give the spectators a run for their money

The issue of safety remains key and as a matter of fact, many spectators and drivers have been involved in accidents. On May 2, 2009, Riyaz Kurji a spirited driver lost his life in a motorsport accident.
