KCCA FC fought back from 1-2 down to defeat Police FC 3-2 in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Jackson Nunda equalized before supet substitute Erisa Ssekisambu sealed the victory with 13 minutes on the clock.

Earlier, Nunda had struck for Mike Mutebi’s side to cancel out Ben Ocen’s opener but Pius Kaggwa scored Police’s second to ensure they head into the break ahead.

Both sides had a chance from the spot to add onto their tally but missed.

This is KCCA FC’s third victory on the trot and it sees them climb into 6th on the table.

Missing upto six first team players who were away for National team duty, the Kasasiros started slowly and were made to pay as Ocen slotted home the opener.

However, Nunda races onto a through-pass and restored purity for Mutebi’s side.

With the game failing to settle down, Kaggwa lashed one into the top corner to see the Cops regain their lead.

Kaggwa could have doubled the lead but was twice denied by Jamil Maliyamungu.

Steven Sserwadda also came close to levelling matters but his effort was tipped over by Davis Mutebi.

Two minutes into the second half, Ssekisambu replaced Mike Mutyaba and what a change that would later turn out to be.

On 70 minutes, Ssekisambu assisted Nunda for the equalizer.

Seven minutes later, the substitute raced onto a rebound after Mutebi had parried Nunda’s effort before slotting in the winner.

Nunda missed a chance batting a hatrick when his penalty kick was save .

The win sees KCCA FC move onto 16 points for the season having played 8 games.

For Police who played without head coach Abdallah Mubiru, they remain second from bottom with just five points accumulated so far.

In their next engagements, Police are at home to Tooro United FC while KCCA FC are away to Express FC.
