Wakiso Region Secondary Schools Netball Championship 2019
Finals Buddo SS beat St Mary’s Kitende 35-33 in extra time after nomal time ended in a 26 all draw to win their first netball trophy in history at home in a very organised sports complex.

After a successful journey in the annual Ball Games One where Buddo SS won the district and National Basketball and Wakiso District Copa Coca-Cola qualifiers trophy, the school continues to write down historical records in secondary schools sports.

On Friday, the 21st of June 2019 at home venue, Buddo SS girls come all out against last year’s champion St Mary’s Kitende to win their first ever Wakiso District Secondary schools Netball Championship in a 35-33 score line.

Buddo SS proved their superiority right from the group stages when they beat the East African (FEASSSA) champion St Noa Girls School-Zana by 24-18 in the opening game and topped group D unbeaten winning all the five games. In the quarter finals, Buddo outclassed neighbor Madinah Islamic to win 30-11 goals before a 27-20 against Exodus College in the semi finals.

St Mary’s Kitende also led group A which had seven teams with a 100% record. In the quarter final stage, St Mary’s Kitende stopped St Noa Girls School-Zana by 29-22 goals before a slim semi final 22-20 victory over Kawanda SS.

Twenty five (25) schools who started the competition in four groups took part in this year’s edition which has rolled for two days from Thursday, the 20th-21st June. Fourteen (14) teams have qualified for National Ball Games Two set to kick off on 6th-14th July 2019 at Teso College Aloeti in Soroti.

Buddo SS, St Mary’s Kitende, Kawanda SS, Exodus College, Madina Islamic, St Noa Girls School-Zana, Kennedy High School, Rines SS, London College-Nansana, Kasangati High School, Entebbe Parents, Cityland College, Amity SS and God Cares are the schools to represent Wakiso Region in July Nationals.
