The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has on Tuesday 25 June 2019 launched the road map for ball games II tournament to be held in Soroti at Teso College Aloet from 6th to 16th July 2019.
The tournament that act as a qualifier for the 2019 FEASSSA games to be held in August in Arusha Tanzania, has attracted over 5000 participants from 316 teams.
The competition has got a new sport which is woodball that joined the previous six disciplines that have been in existence.
“We added a new sport which is woodball, we found out that all sports starts from schools and some federation have no strength to stretch their disciplines to far areas that’s why we need to at least have them on board such that our children get chance to play” Patrick Okanya, USSSA president told msnewsint.com after the press conference held at Cooper Chimney at Lugogo on Tuesday morning.
This means the 2019 tournament will have seven sports disciplines, these include:
Football U16 ( S1, S2 and S3), Netball girls, Volleyball boys and girls, Handball boys and girls, Athletics boys and girls, Woodball boys and girls and Rugby sevens boys.
Before the kickoff of ball games two on 6th July, USSSA will first host the swimming gala at Green Hill Academy from Saturday 29th- Sunday 30th June and it is expected to have 450 swimmers and the best 30 will represent Uganda in FEASSSA games to be held between 15-25th August in Arusha Tanzania.
The teams and players per discipline for ball games two 2019 tournament expected as follows bellow:
Netball– 80 teams total participants 1120.
Football- 48 teams- Participants 960
Volleyball- 70 teams- 840 participants
Handball- 40 teams- 560 participants
Athletics- 70 teams- 1260 participants
Woodball- 25 teams- 150 participants
Rugby 7s- 12 teams – 144 participants

27, June 2019: submission of qualified schools(Secretariat)
25-27: Confirmation of teams(Secretariat)
1st July: Replacement of teams (Lugogo)
2nd July: payment of replaced teams (Secretariat)
3rd July: National draws(Lugogo)
6th July: Arrival of teams ( Soroti Teso College Aloet )
6th July: Technical Meeting (Teso College Aloet)
6th july: Screening of Players (Teso College Aloet Soroti)
7th July: games start (Teso College Aloet Soroti)
9th July: Official Opening ceremony ( Soroti Boma ground)
13th July: official closing ceremony (Boma ground)
14th July: Teams Departure.
