Prroline FC have named an 18-man squad that will travel for their CAF Confederations Cup first round game away to AS Kigali.

The Lugogo based side who are in their debut Continental campaign will square off with their Rwandese counterparts in the first leg of the tie on Saturday afternoon.

The team named does not include a host of big names including Edrisa ‘Torres’ Lubega.

Torres just returned to the club last month after his loan spell in Europe expired.

Upon his return, he scored the winning goal in Proline’s 1-0 victory over Onduparaka FC on match-day two of the current Uganda Premier league season.

The Uganda Cranes international is expected to be an integral figure in Proline’s season but efforts to secure a license for him to feature in the game fell on barren land and hence will not take part.

Joining him on the list of absentees is former Vipers SC striker Alfred Leku.

Like Torres, Leku has just joined Proline in the offseason after returning from Botswana.

The other player missing on the squad is on-loan Vipers SC goalkeeper Bashir Sekagya who is yet to feature for the Lugogo based side.

Surprisingly, striker Ivan Bogere has been included despite having a rift with the club’s management.

Bogeere who scored all three goals as Proline beat Malawian side Security Master 3-0 in the preliminary round first leg, is understood to be seeking for a move away from the club and has consistently refused to renew his current contract.

Bogeere who has been on and off in training has featured in only one league game, the 3-0 loss to Mbarara City. He missed the victory over Onduparaka in the league and it was highly believed he would not play for Proline again.

Proline reached the first round of the Confederations Cup qualifiers following a 3-0 aggregate victory over Masters Securities.

For AS Kigali, the breezes past Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) 2-1.

The second leg of the tie will be played at Lugogo on the 28th of September.
