On Monday September 25, the Lira side shocked the Cops with their strong start to the BETPAWA FUFA Big League–game played Kavumba, pushing the law enforcers to the wall.

Brian Odong forced Police custodian Davis Mutebi to an early fourth-minute save as they announced their arrival.

Jimmy Oola stubbed in a stunner in the 20th minute as the Elephants took the surprise lead in the game.

Majid Musema traded his run well on the right before slicing a tricky cross across the face of goal. Oola sneaked behind the hosts skipper Joseph Ssentume and headed it in.

Coach Simon Mugerwa was forced to readjust his team after the halftime pep talk bringing on Tony Kiwalazi and Denis Kalanzi and then James Obedia and Herman Wasswa

Kalanzi’s introduction added speed to the game forcing the visitors to retreat deep into their half.

He was denied a couple of chances but not for long as Kiwalazi set him with a cross to head in the 64th minute.

However, his initial effort was saved by Saban Mohammad before the keeper spilled it back for the striker to tap in easily.

Wasswa’s introduction almost paid off in the 75th when he fired with his first touch of the game but Mohammad expertly tipped it over.

Another chance fell on his foot in the final minute of the game but he shot directly to the keeper.

Obedi saved Mugerwa’s debut with a header that won the game in the second minute of additional time.
