AFCON 2025 MOROCCO QUALIFIERS: UGANDA CRANES COACH PUT NAMES 28 MAN SQUAD FOR SOUTH AFRICA, CONGO

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Joseph Put has summoned a squad of 28 players for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville to be played next month.

The Squad was confirmed in a press briefing held on Tuesday 27 August 2024 at FUFA Complex Mengo.

The Team will travel to South Africa on Saturday 31st August to prepare for the first game against Bafana Bafana scheduled for Friday 6th September at Orlando Stadium.

Uganda Cranes game against Congo will be played three days later on Monday September 9th 2024 at Mandela National Stadium.

In his remarks, He confirmed that defenders Kenneth Semakula and Halidi Lwaliwa will not be available for the game against South Africa due to Visa issues. However, those players will be available for the home game against Congo at Namboole.

He further revealed that some players have been sidelined due to injuries. These include Allan Kyambadde, Moses Opondo, Uche Mubiru Ikpeazu and Isaac Ssewankambo.

Uganda Cranes is in Group K with South Africa, South Sudan and Congo Brazzaville.

Tickets for the home game against Congo will go on market tomorrow Wednesday, 28th August 2024 as confirmed by FUFA Communication director, Ahmed Hussein.
