African leaders arrive to Uganda for the 3 days G-25 Africa coffee summit

Leaders for the African countries that engage in coffee farming have arrived in Uganda to be part of the G -25 Africa coffee summit at Speke Resort Hotel in  Munyonyo, starting today 8th- 10 August 2023.

This meeting is aimed at African countries that engage in coffee growing checking themselves, and find means on how to improve on the quality of coffee, thereby increasing on the profit earned for the country’s development.

The president of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Her Excellency Saleh Work Zawedde arrived in Uganda on Monday 7 August 2023, one day to the summit. She was welcomed by the minister of presidency Hon Milly Babirye Babalanda at Entebbe international airport.

The other senior African goverment officials that have arrived in Uganda include, the Vice president of Tanzania Dr. Phillip Isdor Mpango and the prime cabinet secretary of Kenya His Excellency Musalia Mudavadi.

These officials were welcomed by the state minister for foreign affairs, incharge of regional cooperation Hon John Mulimba.

The other heads of state that are expected to arrive in the country are  the President of Equatorial Guinea His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and other senior ministers from the 22 African coffee producing nations.

In abid to foster the African coffee sector, and the regional cooperation, the government of Uganda has agreed and entered into a partnership  with the Inter African Coffee Organisation to host this conference.

The 3 days summit will look at challenges African coffee  growing and producing countries face and find means of resolving such challenges together for the betterment of coffee growing and production in African countries.

It is expected to be  officiated by the president of the republic of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
