The 2023 Airtel Masaza Cup group stage action resumes this weekend with five games on the card for match day eight.
Defending champions Busiro are still struggling, having only one win in seven games played so far but a win today against Mawogola, will widen their chances of making it to quarter finals.
Busiro will have to win Mawogola away from home to go to 10 points only two behind Gomba and Mawokota who are first and second respectively.
Gomba and Mawokota have 12 points each and same goal difference but Gomba sits first ahead of their away game against Kabula in Bakijjulula.
The record champions Gomba shared spoils with Mawogola last game and their head coach Felix Ssekabuza is optimistic to win today’s game.
“We lost two vital points at home in the last game but now our focus is on winning our game against Kabula. All the players responded well to the tactics during the last training and we are ready to face and beat Kabula.” Brave Ssekabuza Said.
A win for Gomba will keep them on top of the table if Mawokota doesn’t win their game against Ssese with a big goal margin.
Meanwhile, Buvuma will host Bulemeezi in a battle for second place in Bulange group. Buvuma has 11 points while Bulemeezi has 10 points. The winner between the two, will close the gap with Ssingo who sits first with 16 points.
