On count it is just days to the opening of 2024 Airtel Masaza cup the prestigious football competition has been officially launched on Wednesday 19 June 2024.
The tournament will be Kicked off with a Match Between defending Champion, Bulemeezi and Neighbours, Bululi on Saturday 22 June at Kasana Luwero playgrounds have had its launch at Bulange Mengo.
The launch was attended by the 18 county (Masaza) team managements and Masaza chiefs with all confirming participation readiness
Airtel’s representative at the even Ali Balunywa hinted on other images which Masaza cup competition prevails despite being a key figure in sports waves by laying shining platform to many youthful players.
“This Masaza cup is beyond a football competition, it is something which hugely unites all the people in Buganda and shades Buganda’s heritage honestly everyone would like to association with such an important event but proudly it is Airtel which is in major partnership” Director Sales and distribution at Airtel stated.
Airtel Uganda takes the Lion’s share of the tournaments funding with a sponsorship in billions over the years, the likes of Centenary Bank, Nivana water, Plascon paint among others playing a big role to see this competition is well facilitated.
At the event it is where the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga called the youth to spring on their youthful age “this is an opportunity to our youth in Buganda and Uganda at large, therefore I call upon them to utilize it, if the luck comes and fail to take it you don’t find it Anywhere so this is a competition to use on showcasing your ability and move on to higher levels, Our first speaker’s has talked on the how youths passed through Masaza Cup how they have took the biggest percentage of we have had in the recent national team engagements that has to be an example to take”
The Buganda kingdom Premier Also urged Masaza cup participants to stay disciplined “winning stands on 4 pillars and those are discipline for Players, administrators, Referee and fans, “Masaza cup is a huge brand, and I cannot forget to highlight our partners
” as we appreciate our partners like Airtel, Plascon and others, thanks is not enough but loyalty to them is key”
