The NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has welcomed a group of Amuria and Kapelebyong district leaders at various levels into the ruling Party who previously were in the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC). They were received at the NRM headquarters at Plot 10 on Kyadondo Road in Nakasero.
As a courtesy, SG Todwong handed the converted cadres the NRM constitution, and manifesto of 2021-26, as he encouraged them to read and understand the party’s core principles of Patriotism, Pan Africanism, Democracy and socio-economic transformation.
“I now declare you members of the NRM with full rights to participate in party activities. I ask you to read and understand our ideology well,” Todwong said.
He congratulated the leaders for choosing the right to join a party that promotes peace, unity, and prosperity for all. “You are welcome and feel at home,” SG Todwong. added.
The leaders said they are joining NRM because it holds the future. “The sober decision we have taken is informed by the good deeds of the NRM under the stewardship of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,” Ediau Samuel, the group’s leader and former Amuria county aspirant said.
The NRM Director of External Affairs, Counsel Awich Pollar, reiterated the party’s commitment to improving the people’s welfare and that of all its Ugandans.
