ANC leaders arrive in Uganda to discuss bilateral relations with NRM

A delegation of senior officials of the ruling Africa National Congress (ANC) party from the Republic of South Africa have jetted into Uganda ahead of bilateral engagements with their National Resistance Movement (NRM) party counterparts.
 
ANC’s Treasurer General, Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa who led a three-people delegation was received today evening at Entebbe International Airport by the NRM deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja flanked by the party’s National Treasurer, Hon. Amb. Barbara Nekesa and Maj. Awich Pollar, the Director of External Affairs.
 
In a brief interaction of both parties in the Airport lounge, Rt. Hon. Namayanja said the NRM party treasures the remarkable historical relations between Uganda and the Republic of South Africa.  
 
On her part, the ANC Treasurer General, Dr Ramakgopa said they look forward to progressive and fruitful engagements during their stay in Uganda.
 
Amb. Nekesa said that ANC’s visit to Uganda creates a platform to reinvigorate the party-to-party and government-to-government relations in the trade and defence fields which have existed for many decades.  
 
The distinguished diplomats who are in Uganda for a three-day official working visit are expected to hold a high-level meeting with the NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong and the top management at the party headquarters.
