Archbishop Paul Ssemwogerere cautions people to use their wealth for the goodness of the Lord

The Archbishop of Kampala Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemwogerere has challenged people that the Lord has blessed with wealth to use it to promote the work of God’s kingdom and helping the needy so that they can contribute towards the country’s development.

He delivered this message while officially opening the new home for Pope’s scout officer Mr. Joseph Yiga and wife Regina Yiga who were also celebrating 35 years of their marriage, in Gayaza Nangombe Kasanje village Busiro County.

The Archbishop commended all Pope’s scout officer who have genuinely contributed towards the Catholic Church in Uganda to see its work progressing.

During the same function, the Buganda Premier Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Buganda Kingdom premier challenged the youth who want easy money which has misled them into evil acts and as well challenged the rich who spend their money carelessly to instead use it to support God’s work.

Owek. Mayiga challenged people to work hard to get what they need in life but not to look at getting free things since working helps people support themselves in whatever they desire.

On behalf of the friends of the bishop, Emmanuel Katongole appreciated the couple for being faithful to each other for the 35 years they have spent in marriage and as well commended them for helping the needy.

While representing the central government, Minister for works and transport Gen Katumba Wamala promised the people of Kasanje and the surroundings that the road Mpigi Kasanje Nakawuka is yet to be worked on since the government has already contracted a company which is to do the work.

The couple expressed gratitude towards God who has enabled them stay together for the 35years and pledged before their guests to continue serving the Lord.

This function was also attended by Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, Pope Nuncio Archbishop Augustine Kasujja, Bishop Severus Jjumba, Bishop Joseph Kakooza, Lawrence Mukasa, Bishop Anthony Zziwa, Prince David Kintu Wasajja, Owek Apollo Makubuya, Former Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, priests from different Catholic church parishes, politicians, business people among others dignitaries.
