After a triumph at COSAFA U17 Girls championship held in Mauritius in September, Ayubu Khalifa keep on closing the gap between him and National senior Women’s team the crested cranes.
With his rich experience and success in Women football as a coach at all levels many Women football lovers and administrators have been yearning for the gaffer to be the National team (head coach).
And as we speak now the Uganda football governing body FUFA gradually answering the questions and they first trusted him (Ayubu) with U17 Girls team that won the only international Women football trophy for Uganda as a nation when they beat South Africa on final of COSAFA 2-1 to lift the maiden title.
The information reaching on msnewsint desk, indicate that Ayubu Khalifa the Kawempe muslim ladies head coach is to deputise Kampala Queens head coach Faridah Bulega at the Crested cranes in the forthcoming CECAFA Womens Senior challenge cup to be held in Tanzania mid November 2019, replacing SC Villa Head coach Kaziba.
However Ayubu Khalifan asserted that he also heared the rumors in cottidors but the federation is not yet officially contacted him about the issue.
“I also headed rumours in corridors but the federation us not yet contacted me”.
” However, if they give me the chance I will not block it because that is like a command from your boss to which you can’t turn down”, he further said.
In 2018 CECAFA championship held in Rwanda, Uganda finished second with a sliver medal, the best performance that was rejuvenated in 2016.
Meanwhile, The crested cranes have been pitted in tough group for this year’s CECAFA Women’s championship which will be held in Tanzania next month.
Uganda’s senior Women team is in group B alongside, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti while Group A has hosts Tanzania, Zanzibar, Birundi and south Sudan.
The event is slated for 14th- 23rd November in Dar-es- salaam Tanzania. Faridah Bulega is expected to reveal her squad for this year’s event early next week during the previous edition, Uganda finished as runners up to eventual winners Tanzania in Rwanda.
Groups. Group A. Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, South Sudan.
Group B. Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti.
