Baby Cricket Cranes Flagged Off For Dar-El Salaam World Cup Qualifiers

The Uganda U-19 cricket team,  the Baby cricket cranes have been flagged-off on Thursday 20 July 2023 morning for Tanzania world cup qualifiers at the function held NCS complex, Lugogo.

David Katende,  NCS secretary general administration flagged off the team on behalf of NCS.

The final 14 team members comporise of six players who were part of the U-19 world cup in West Indies comporise of captain Fahad Mutagana,  Pius Oloka,  Joseph Baguma,  Brian Asaba,  Ronald Omara and Yunus Sowobi.

The World Cup qualify will start from 21 July – 31 July at University of Dar El Salam and Gymkhana. Baby Cricket Cranes will be seeking a consecutive World Cup appearance after making its third U-19 World Cup appearance in the West Indies in 2022.

Uganda has been in the World Cup in 2004,  2006 and 2022 and success in Tanzania will be their fourth appearance .The team has spent the last seven days in residential camp in Entebbe.

According to David Katende, he appealed to players to perform well so that they can give the journalists to write a good story on them.

The 14 team member consist of,  Fahad Mutagana,  Pius Oloka,  Ronald Omara,  Yunus Sowobi,  Musa Majid,  Jonathan Nyero,  Gerald Olipa,  Ali Balidawa,  Joseph Baguma,  Brian Asaba,  Conrad Lubwama, Abdul Aziz Tandia and Jaffar Ochaya.

Officials,  Emmanuel Isaneez (Head coach),  Robinson Turinawe (Assistant coach),  Habiba Klusum(Physiotherapist) and Rokani Sylvester (team manager).
