Bayern Munich will be targeting a third consecutive Bundesliga victory when they take on Beyer Leverkusen on Saturday afternoon.
Ever since the Bavarians parted ways with Niko Kovac, they have defeated Dortmund and Dusseldorf. If you add the victory over Crvena Zvezda to the mix, caretaking coach-Hans Dieter Flick has won all his three games in charge, scoring 14 goals and conceding none.
It is some start to his coaching career and it would come as no surprise if he is being considered for the permanent role.
In Robert Lewandowski, they have the most in-form striker in Europe as the Pol has managed 22 goals in just 19 appearances this season.
Lewandowski will be the man that Flick looks to ahead of the clash with Leverkusen on Saturday and if he can prove as reliable as he has been this season, Bayern have a very good chance to win a third league game in a row.
Lucas Hernandez, Nikolas Sule and Jann Arp are still injured but that should not be a major concern as Bayern have won the past two games without them.
With leaders Borussia Monchengladbach not in action until Sunday, a win for Bayern will take them top of the pile if Leipzig falters away to Paderborn.
For Leverkusen, they have been blowing hot and cold so far.
Peter Bosz side have shown moments of brilliance at some stage and then proved short of quality on another.
Last weekend, they drew 1-1 at home to Freiburg before defeating Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 in the Champions League.
Lack of consistency has cost them dearly in the league and will start the day in 9th and having won just one of their past six Bundesliga games.
They will welcome back Jamaican forward Leon Baily for the game but will be without four other first-team players.
Last season, the two sides shared the six points equally with Bayern winning the reverse fixture 3-1 before Leverkusen won their home game by the same score-line.
However, Leverkusen have not defeated Bayern at the Allianz Arena since October 2012.
On Sunday, table toppers Gladbach will be at home to Freiburg.
Gladbach have surprised everyone but lost 2-0 at Union Berlin last weekend.
With 25 points, they sit top of the pile and victory over Freiburg will be their 9th for the season.
Freiburg too have not been a disappointment so far.
Currently, they occupy 4th on the standings with 22 points, three adrift of Gladbach.
However, lately, their form has dipped as they have won just two of their past six league games (D3 L1)
They do score goals more often than not and will surely pose serious questions to the Gladbach defence.
Last season, the two sides drew 1-1 at Borussia Park, after Freiburg had won 3-1 in the first leg.
The Bundesliga other fixtures to look out for include Schalke hosting Union Berlin on Friday, Dortmund are away to Hertha Berlin on Saturday, the same day Paderborn host RB Leipzig. On Sunday, Wolfsburg will take on Werder Bremen.
