The dates for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2024 have been confirmed by the Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”).
The Competition is scheduled between 19-26 October 2024 in coastal city of Hurghada, Egypt.
A total of eight teams, including hosts Egypt, will compete in the sixth edition of the tournament. Morocco, Tanzania, Ghana, Mauritania, Mozambique, Malawi, and Senegal all secured a spot in the finals following tough qualifiers across the continent.
Uganda missed out the qualifier against Tanzania due lack of funds which forced FUFA EXCO to withdraw the Sand Cranes from the championship.
For the finals, the participating teams will be divided into two groups, each comprising four teams.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the ultimate goal of securing the championship title.
Situated by the Red Sea, Hurghada is renowned for its stunning beaches and is a popular tourist destination. This marks the second occasion that Egypt will host the Beach Soccer AFCON, following the 2018 edition held in Charm-El Sheikh.
All eyes will be on title holders Senegal, who are aiming for their fifth championship title after clinching the last four editions in 2016, 2018, 2021, and 2022.
It promises to be another exhilarating tournament, drawing attention from beach soccer enthusiasts and fans of the participating nations alike.
Meanwhile the best two teams will represent the continent at the forthcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup which will be hosted at the continent for the first by Seychelles come 2025 between 1 and 11 May in Victoria, Mahé island
