The newly appointed Buganda Kingdom Sports Minister Owek Robert Sserwanga inspected the venue that is going to host the 49th edition of the Bika By’Abaganda Tournament.
Before holding a preparatory meeting for the two finals of Football and Netball to be held on Saturday 26th August 2023 at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, Minister Owek Robert Sserwanga first addressed media and then later inspected the ground.
“I am happy to inform you that the final for Bika tournament is on this Saturday and His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will grace the final ” says Minister.
“I request the people of Buganda to come early, the gates will be open at 8am, like we stated in our first address, the final is at 10000/- ordinary, VIP is at 20000/-, and kids who will come with their parents, their entrance is free.” He added.
According to minister, everything is set, the ground is ready to host the fixture between Mbogo and Ngoonge [football] and Nyonyi Nyange and Ngeye [Netball].
Minister also revealed the tentative program; “Gates will be open at 8am, tickets will be found at the gate, you only need to come with your money, Ssabasajja will arrive at 2PM. The third place classification match between Omutima Omusaji and Nsenene in football will be played at 11am and in Netball, Nkima and Mmamba Namakaka will play before the final.” He explained.
Like Minister, the Vice chairperson of BIFONEC and the in charge of netball, Dr. Sarah Nkonge Muwonge asked all clans to come and watch the finals.
“This season, netball has been so competitive, the players you saw in World Cup with She Cranes are from these Bika, they are going to play each other here, so I argue you to come and watch the final that will be graced by Kabaka.” Dr. Sarah Nkonge Muwonge called upon Fans to storm Wankulukuku in big Numbers.
