Bishop Jjumba confirms over 200 students in Kasozi Parish

Over 200 young Christians have been confirmed into the Catholic Christian faith by the Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Serverus Jjumba at a function that took place at Kasozi Parish church.

Bishop Jjumba has appealed to parents to bring up their children in religion and encouraging them to serve their Lord so that they can build and strengthen their faith.

He noted this, while leading prayers during the confirmation servicer of over 200 children held at Kasozi Parish in Rakai district, as well as launching the rehabilitation of the church at Kasozi Catholic Parish ahead of the celebrations of its 130 years of the existence due to take place next year.

Bishop Jjumba, cited that, the church is looking at the young generation for development through serving the lord and as well as developing the church.

He has also appealed to parents to encourage their children to serve the lord through becoming priests as a way of committing their faith in God.

The Deputy Chairperson of Rakai district Mr. Umar Ssebalinde who was among the guests also appealed to parents to bring up their children in God, as children who are not raised in religion are being attracted to evil acts.

Kooki Buganda chief Owekitiibwa Gertrude Nakalanzi Ssebugwaawo has called upon parents to encourage their children to work so that they fit in the society as they will be able to sustain themselves financially, as this will help them to grow up knowing and understanding the concept of work.

Owek. Gertrude has as well called upon parents to invest in their children’s education as this will help them be able to engage in different developmental activities to help them develop their lives.
