The Bishop of Mukono Diocese the Rt. Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo has challenged the God parents who stand for the confirmands to keep monitoring and encouraging them throughout their spiritual lives so that they keep them growing in the church.

Bishop Kagodo spent time with the Christians at St. Mark Church of Uganda in Natteta parish, in Kangulumira Archdeaconry Mukono Diocese as he was leading the confirmation service of over 70 confirmands and holy communion service.

During the service, Bishop Kagodo cautioned God fathers and God mothers to try as much as they can to keep an eye at the confirmed children to train them grow up in the spiritual world, noting that if they don’t take their spiritual responsibility, the blame is to be shifted on them.

He urged the Christians of Natteta never to give up but to continue serving the Lord so that they can be blessed.
Natteta parish priest Rev Charles Kalenzi revealed to the Bishop that the Christians in this church have been able to spread the gospel as many have been converted to Christianity, and actively engaged in the church activities such as contributing towards the funds to buy the mission truck to continue with spreading the gospel.

However, he reported the challenges that have affected the church such as the unstable country’s economy that has affected the church activities, parents carelessness as some of them don’t even want to pay for their children’s lunch at school, and Christians who do not want to attend Sunday church services and instead concentrate in other activities on Sunday.

He revealed plans that their concentration is to be put on the construction of the cathedral and the church at the Natteta parish headquarters.

During the same service, the Chairman for the Friends of Hope from Seeta Archdeaconry Paul Musasizi led the fundraising for the construction of the church at the parish headquarters. The function was attended by the Bishop’s wife Maama Catherine Kitto, Diocesans Secretary Rev Can John Ssebudde and wife, Kangukumira Archdeacon Rev Can Ignatius Bogere and wife, priests, headteachers, politicians among others.
