Bishop Lawrence Mukasa ordains priests in Luwero Diocese

The newly elected Bishop of Luwero Diocese Lawrence Mukasa has comfirmed new priests in the diocese being his first ordination service, few weeks after being consecrated as the third Bishop of Luwero Kasana Diocese.

During the service being held at Our lady of Fatima Queen of peace Cathedral in Kasana Luwero town council, Bishop Lawrence Mukasa has ordained  two Deacons and five priests.

Bishop has appealed to the people of Luwero Diocese to work together with these priests during their service.

Bishop Mukasa has also urged the newly ordained Deacon and priests to endeavor loving the people they are going to serve, and to respect the elders in the parishes they are going to serve in.

He has commended the elders in the church for properly preparing the ordained priests, noting that he has found them well prepared for the ordination.

The five ordained priests have been deacons for  only six months which is un usual since deacons have to be ordained after a full year of service.

The five new priests include Rev Fr. Elly Kayonga, Rev Fr. Mark Mugagga, Rev Fr. Antony Kirumira, Rev Fr. Denis  Kakooza and  Rev Fr. John Baptist  Lakonyelo. And the 2 ordained Deacons are Rev  Charles Mutyaba and Rev Lawrence Kasagga, those have pledged co-operation and faithful service with the bishop and his successors.

On behalf of the new ordained priests, Rev Fr. Antony Kirumira has appreciated their elders for grooming them in christ  through supporting their education and standing with them until they have been ordained.

MP for Buganda region  youth in parliament Agnes Kirabo Nantongo has challenged the youth to use their youthhood not to waste time in useless issues but to engage in different development activities so that they shape their future.

This function was graced by priests from Kampala, Kiyinda Mityana,  Lugazi and Masaka Dioceses that made Kampala Catholic Archdiocese and MP for Katikamu North Hon. Denis Ssekabira,  Luwero CAO innocent  Asaba, Justice Flavia Nabakooza among others dignitaries.
