Kyadondo East Member of Parliament (MP), Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine has on Sunday September 22, hailed fellow singer Ronald Mayinja for opening up to President Museveni during Catherine Kusasira’s concert.

During the event, in his song ”Bizzeemu” Mayinja openly highlighted to Mr Museveni who was the guest of honour, the increasing insecurity, alleged nepotism, corruption in the country that he says are rampant.

The singer also accused government of taking a back sit on many of the issues affecting the people including youths unemployment and failure to provide social services on top charging exorbitant taxes on every item.

Now Bobi Wine has showered praises to Mayinja, saying “we must celebrate those who have chosen courage over fear; good over evil!”

“My brother, fellow artiste and PeoplePower co-ordinator Ronald Mayinja is one such Ugandan. Ronald Mayinja used the opportunity to call out the dictator in his face,” Bobi Wine said, slamming Catherine Kusaasira for massaging the ‘dictator’ and make personal requests for assistance.

Thank you brother for being courageous and selfless. Just continue on this path- history will be kind to you,” he added.

Bobi Wine said even if Mayinja’s performance was cut short because they could not stand the truth, the message was delivered loud and clear.

Mayinja also compared Museveni government to those of past leaders including a figure many Ugandans would rather not remember the late president Idi Amin.

Commenting on popular song, Museveni said he has never killed anyone and that the current murders are being stopped.

Museveni explained that unlike in 1980’s, today the killers are individuals not the government in the power.

He advised Mayinja to stop using music to distort facts and other NRM achievements.

“This is good for entertainment business, but should never be to the detriment of strides made in bringing our country out being a failed state. For example, I disagree with one of the singers who was saying “Bizeemu”, as if to say that this NRM government is committing crimes against its people!,” he said.

He added: “Artists should use their talents in ways that do not sow divisions based on lies. The government of Uganda is working against all the threats and crimes against Uganda and her people.”

Mr Museveni said he is confident that murderers whom will be brought to book.

Ronald Mayinja is among the musicians who recently announced that they would join politics come 2021 just like Bobi Wine.

Mayinja declared before a mammoth crowd at Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga concert in Busabalaba last year that he was to contest for Gomba East MP seat.
