After the disappointing performance in this years Airtel Masaza Cup,  Buddu FC is set to bring back their messiah Steven Bogere.

According to the reliable sources inside Buddu,  the team management committee members have agreed to reappoint their former head coach, Steven Bogere,  who was the strong weapon in their two trophies they won in 2016 and 2021.

Bogere was the head coach when Buddu FC reached their first ever final of Masaza Cup in 2015 losing 5:0 to Ssingo,  came back to win it in 2016 for the first time after beating Gomba in penalties and the second in 2021 when they beat Buwekula 2:0 with the same man.

“He has performed bad in the last 7 years after losing 3 home games to Kyadondo,  Buwekula and Gomba,  so he did nothing and he was paid well with good players, it’s time to let him go,” some angry Buddu fans said after losing the semi-final return leg match 1-0 at Masaka recreation ground to Gomba who went through with 3-1 on aggregate.

According to reliable sources,  the committee had tasked Mr. Mugerwa to take their team to the final as well as winning the trophy but what the team performed from the group stages up to knock out stages,  it’s believed to perturbed them not retain him next year as it it looks the third place playoff on Saturday October 28th against Mawokota seems to be his last game in charge for the two time champions will be on 28th, before the re-acquirement of the services of Steven Bogere who is known for flowing football (akawoowo).
