Boxing Champions League: Some were defeated others kept their Iconic images and fans can’t be on flat foots

The Uganda Boxing champions league in Season three resumed with week 6 hosted at Club Obligato on  Saturday August 3th 2024.

In front of whelming number of Boxing lovers which included Iconic faces, witnessed some country’s sport big names failing on the challenge.

Last season title challenger  Broline Kimbugwe “Stylist”suffered a defeat in hands Mutajjazi boxing club’s Ashraf Muteesa at the final bout of the day losing his the second  this  season.

It was a party for all not living fans out as Kato Bossa winning the week best fan with the award handing him free ticket for the entire remaining part of the season.

Back to the fighting contests, Kasim Murungi maintained his last season’s odds over  Derrick Mubiru. The faceoff served in as the main fight for the Season’s  6th round as Murungi winning the Elite 57kgs fight by 5:0 unanimous decision.

To win the East Coast man swallowed some hard punches from Namugoona’s Mubiru.

 Out of the 15 bouts that were on card, only on technical knockout was exhibited in a fight which saw Patrick Kasozi wining over Isaac Kirinya  the contest that was stopped by referee in round 3.

Not in a main Kato Kazibwe of Kololo Boxing Club was aggressive to win 5-2  over Godfrey Ochan of UPDF boxing club in the Elite 48 Kgs, a bout decided after review.

In other Elite 75Kgs Harold Mukuye of UPDF  defeated Okello Ronald of Gulu BC on a split decision 4-3, the fight also decided after results review.

The Gulu man left in disbelief by the result announced since he was sure of having had the work done.

Balyegesa Benon of Cobap BC by a 4:3 split decision was victorious over Joel Mudenya of East Coast BC in the Elite 54Kgs.

In super heavyweight Kiwatule boxing Club’s Emmy Ebongo beat Sabbath Zikama.

In Women category Ayike Arafah of Arua BC won her bout by 5:0 unanimous decision against Laker Sarah of Gulu BC in the Elite 60Kgs.

And in youth Perfect Gideon of KCCA BC managed to a 4:1 decision win over Luo Emmanuel (KCCA BC) in the 57kgs 

Bruno Kakande  of Lukanga BC won by a unanimous decision over Ashiraf Demire  of Lubya BC in the Youth 48kgs.

Only one bout was called off as a result of  Kevin Sendyowa of Kololo Boxing Club who was disqualified to hand Charles Ssekyanzi of Lukanga BC a walkover.

The Uganda boxing champions league will return to action for week 7 after two weeks on Saturday 17th August 2024 at Club Obligato with Nerrick Tumusiime facing Mawanda Depark making the major contest  in Light Middleweight.

The season as always will tap its pick on 26 December 2024 with winner par weight in every category receiving their belts and prizes
