Startimes Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars have reportedly fired head coach Asaph Mwebaze.

Inside sources have revealed to Pulse Sports that the CAF B-licenced tactician is out and will be immediately replaced.

Bright Stars hired the services of Asaph Mwebaze as their head coach on a three-year deal a year ago.

The former Maroons and Onduparaka coach replaced Paul Kiwanuka at the club but will now leave before the expiry of his contract.

As head coach, Mwebaze helped Bright Stars win nine games and draw eight to finish ninth with 35 points last season.

The team also reached the later stages of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, falling to eventual champions Vipers SC in the semi-finals.

Bright Stars Technical Director Ian Mutenda could not confirm the development.

“If there is anything, I promise you will hear from me,” Mutenda said when contacted on phone.

It is, however, understood that Mwebaze’s replacement is already preparing to take over and start preparations for the new season.

Joseph Mutyaba is the man expected to take over at the club.

The former Uganda Cranes International has previously coached at Mutundwe Lions, Masavu FC, Busia Fisheries, Lweza FC, BUL FC and Onduparaka.
