Buganda kingdom together with Bunyoro kingdom have revealed 10 factors that they are to use to lead both kingdoms to different development aspects for the good of the kingdoms.
Among the key development factors, the kingdoms are to embark on tourism, agriculture based on coffee growing, food crops and poultry keeping to enable the kingdom people earn from their sweat, helping them to overcome poverty.
Other factors include protecting and securing their ancestral land, promoting both Luganda and Lunyoro languages in schools around the country through music and drama.
Buganda Kingdom is to engage in Cultural exhibitions, promoting clan sports games in both Obukama and Buganda kingdom, and both kingdom people from outside the country are to come together to discuss the kingdom challenges and way forward for development.
Both kingdoms are to embark on strengthening partnerships with the investors and supporting the youth in the field of professional studies with an aim of reducing on the rate of unemployment in both kingdoms as well as collaborating during both kingdom cultural functions.
During his meeting with the Omuhiikirwa of Bunyoro Andrew Birungi Byakutaaga Ateenyi in Bulange Mengo, the Buganda Premier Owek Charles Peter Mayiga noted that the conflicts between Buganda kingdom and Bunyoro were caused by colonial rulers who forged both kingdom history and ended up dividing people in both monarchies
Owek Mayiga added that both people in the kingdoms have many things in common which need them to come together and work towards their development and help people get out of poverty and hunger.
Bunyoro’s Omubiito Fred Mugenyi Rucuuya extended gratitude towards the King of Buganda for the good relationship maintained between Buganda kingdom and Bunyoro Kingdom.
