Following rumours spreading all over the country about the health of the Kabaka of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi the II being in a bad condition, the Kingdom has come out to clarify that the King is fine but still in the hands of Doctors.

It should be noted that the Kabaka has faced health challenges in the last few years and got treatment from different Doctors in Uganda and other countries.

The statement being read by the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga, which was signed by the the Katikkiro himself, the head of Buganda bataka Augustine Kizito Mutumba, and Prince David Kintu Wasajja reveals that, the Doctors that the Kabaka met in Germany in March this year advised Him to get enough time to rest and to stay away from heavy duties.

They referred Him to Namibia for further treatment and to get enough time to rest as the Katikkiro revealed to the country, and He is still in the hands of Doctors.

Owek Mayiga emphasised that the Kabaka is neither too ill nor in a very bad health condition but He needs more time to rest while in the hands of the Doctors for him to get much better.

“As we continue praying for the King, we would like to inform all the people that Kabaka’s condition is being under safe hands.” Katikkiro said.

He added that it is not proper to spread every information concerning the King since He deserves a right to privacy.

Therefore the Katikkiro, the Royal family and the bataka committee express gratitude to the people in the kingdom for being calm and patient.
However, they challenged people to stay away from false rumours about the King that are circulated by those with negative intentions such as hatred, division and weakening the Kingdom. And encouraged them to continue being patient as the King will return home at the right time.
