Buganda Kingdom through Masaza Cup organising committee have on Tuesday 4 July 2023 organised a referees workshop at Bulange, Mmengo.
The aim of this workshop is to sharpen the referees who officiate the Masaza Cup football tournament for the better of the game, chairman Masaza Cup organising committee Mr. Sulaiman Ssejjengo, told media that.
“The one day referees workshop was aiming to sharpen the intelligence conscience our referees who officiate our games so that they rise on their game standard during the Masaza Cup tournament and I am happy that it was highly attended by referees and assessors who including Brian Nsubuga Miiro, the chairman referees committee and Ali Tomusange, former FIFA referee who officiated in 2002 world cup in Japan and South Korea.
According to Owek. Henry Ssekambembe Kiberu, the Kingdom sports minister , said that this workshop will help our referees who officiates in the Masaza tournament to avoid the mistakes they have been doing.
They have been alot of complains from Masaza about the bad officiation by some refrees and this workshop will improve the standard of officiation in this year’s Masaza tournament.
“I thank the Masaza organising committee to organise this workshop and i hope, this will improve their standard of officiation” Brian Miiro, chairman refrees committee, states.
The workshop which started in the morning, ended in the evening with referees promising to improve in their mistakes.
