Buganda Kingdom mourns the fallen Namibian President

Buganda Kingdom Premier Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga has paid a courtesy visit to the Namibian Ambassador in Uganda H.E Godfrey Kirumira to extend the Kingdom condolences to him and the Namibians in Uganda for the death of their President his Excellency Hage Gottfried Geingob.

During the visit at H.E Kirumira’s office in Nakasero, Owek Mayiga noted, “It is sad for Africa because President Hage Gottfried Geingob has worked tirelessly for the transformation of lives of the people of Namibia.”

“He added that the story of Namibia is encouraging and gives hope to Uganda and Africa at large because post independent leadership in many African countries have been challenged with managing the dynamics that follow independence.

Owek. Mayiga commended the fallen President for ensuring economic and social progress in the country making it being sited as an example of a progressive and stable country in Africa, that’s why there are alot of business opportunities in Namibia for many Africans including Ugandans.

He commended Namibia for the smooth succession of the new President after the death of His Excellency Dr. Huge Gottfried Geingob which indicates the strength in the institutions of the state in Namibia and wished the new President a fruitful period in office.

The Namibian Ambassador to Uganda His Excellency Godfrey Kirumira commended Katikkiro Mayiga for the condolence message and expressed hope that the death of President Huge will not affect the running of the country but things will move smoothly as they were, since according to this country’s governance, the new leader continues from where the late leader ended.
