Bugema (1) vs (2) UCU

Bugema, 3.30pm

Uganda Christian University travel to Bugema University on Wednesday for the second leg of their Pepsi University Football League semi-final tie knowing they will have to work twice as hard as they did in the first leg if they are to make it to the Finals for the first time in six years. UCU carry a 2-1 advantage from the first leg which coach Kintu Mwera believes is a slender lead.

“The tie is definitely not over yet. 2-1 is a slender advantage and we still have some work to do,” Mwera said. “We shall need to work very hard and put in a very good performance if we are to make it to the Finals”

“I believe Bugema is going to give it all they have got and come at us with waves of attack but we are ready to withstand them. We shall also be attacking them because it is dangerous to defend with such a slender lead” Mwera added

For Bugema University coach Nyanzi Medhi, a place in the Finals is still in play despite their loss in the first leg.

“Although we lost in the first leg we managed to get an away goal which was very important. We played defensively and managed to limit the deficit to just one goal” Nyanzi said.

“For the return leg we are going to have an all out attack. All eleven players are going to be attack minded cause we need to score to win,” Nyanzi added.

UCU will be without the services of their defender Atuhwera Fred who is on suspension after accumulating 2 yellow cards however coach Mwera believes they have a suitable replacement.

“We are going to be without Atuhera Fred who is suspended after accumulating two yellow cards but we have other dependable defenders like Gaganga Geoffrey who is doing Bachelor of Statistics. This is his chance to shine.”

The winner of tomorrow’s game will face the winner between Uganda Martyrs University and St. Lawrence who play their second leg on Friday at Nkozi. That tie is level at 1-
