Bukedea National Rally Launched, The first ever motor sport event in Teso region

The Bukedea National Rally officially launched on Friday, 03rd, March, 2023 at Lake View Hotel in Busabala

The first ever motor sport event to be hosted in Bukedea and Teso region at large, is slated for three days and it will start on 31st March and end on 2nd April 2023.

Eastern Motor Club pledged to fans in Bukedea and Teso to come in big numbers because it’s going to be free of charge since its the first time to be held in the far East.

The big crowds also mean extra benefits for the people running businesses in such areas.

Eastern Motor Club say they also have the backing of the Bukedea district Woman MP and Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Annet Anita Among, who is a well-known supporter and lover of sports.

“We are happy that we are opening up the sport to the new area. The name of our Eastern motor club speaks for itself so we have a responsibility to take the sport to all parts of eastern Uganda,” Organizing Committee Chairman Kees Kagolo told Voice of Bugerere

The cars are expected to go through the areas of Missio, Kokoli, Kabarwa, Aminit, Aligoi, Kidongole among others.

Busuulwa Fred Kitaka among the drivers in this event said that

“We have inspected all roads in Bukedea and there is no pot holes in the roads which means that it will be either a good car or a good driver to be the champion in Bukedea therefore no excuses concerning the routes”.

The second round of the National Rally Championship will be hosted in Bukedea District for the first time in the history of the sport in Uganda.

The cars will traverse all the sub counties and major towns in the district. in this case over 170kms will be covered by the drivers. The cars are expected to go through the areas of Missio, Kokoli, Kabarwa, Aminit, Aligoi, Kidongole among others.
