BUL FC held to a 1-1 draw by resilient Blacks Power FC to get their Startimes Uganda Premier League second round kicks off positively at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.
BUL who won the first leg fixture 5-0 away at John Akii-bua Stadium in Lira last year, were clear favorites to get the job done but had to straggle for an equalizer after lettings their visitor lead the game in just 17 minutes through a Dickens Okwir’s outside the 18 yard box goal, the strike while also frustrated the home funs before the signing Sam Kayongo Ssekamatte strikes back to level the score on his debut before the half time break.
Ssekamatte, who joined from Arua Hill FC to replace Karim Ndugwa who left for defending champions, Vipers SC positioned him self well for Douglas Muganga’s through ball outside the “D” to give the ball a safe direction past goalkeeper for the Jinja best side to celebrate.
BUL played second half putting their visitor on receiving but the my chances gotten didn’t yield some better until the entire 90 minutes elapsed.
Blacks Power almost restored their advantage when he benefited from Aggrey Madoi’s poor back pass, beat Otti before he was denied by a late Muganga block.
BUL move to 28 points, remaining second, three points adrift of leaders KCCA.
Blacks Power are now on 12 points.
