BUL FC Junior Team maintained their perfect start to the FUFA Juniors League National Finals after edging past Prosper Soccer Academy on Wednesday.

In a physical and closely contested game played at FUFA Technical Centre, BUL fought hard to overcome Prosper Soccer Academy.

The decisive moment came in the 14th minute when Eric Kibirango’s long range effort found the back of the net.

Right from onset, the game was physical and prompted the referee to ditch out bookings on either side.

Despite both teams getting numerous scoring opportunities, there was lack of efficiency to put them to good use.

The win means BUL FC Junior Team stay second on the table with seven points from two games.

Prosper Soccer Academy on the other hand drop to third place with four points from two games. They will face Mbarara Soccer Academy on Thursday.

On the other hand, BUL FC Junior Team will face leaders Vipers SC Junior Team in a crunch match also on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Friends of Soccer FC from Fort Portal City earned their first win at the ongoing FUFA Juniors League National finals after defeating Mbarara Sports Academy on Wednesday at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

In a game that witnessed a heavy downpour especially in the second half, Friends of Soccer stood out to claim maximum points.

The opening half ended goalless before the floodgates opened just as it started raining.

Abdu Musinguzi fired Friends of Soccer into the lead, just three minutes after recess converting from spot.

The lead was however short lived with Mbarara Sports Academy levelling matters through Ronnie Asiimwe who also converted from the penalty mark.

It was Nelson Thomas Ngambeki who eventually decided the game, bagging a brace on the day, his first goal coming in the 59th minute before putting the icing on the cake with a well taken free kick in the 82nd minute.

Victory means Friends of Soccer FC move to four points from three games and will play their final game against BUL FC Junior Team on Friday.

Mbarara Sports Academy who are yet to get a point will end their campaign with a fixture against Prosper Soccer Academy on Thursday.

It should be noted that the tournament has five regional Champions contending for the overall national title.

The games are played on a round robbin format with the team having the most number of points emerging winners.
