Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II officiated the closing of the 2019 Masaza Cup finals held at Mandela National Stadium on Saturday October 26th
Bulemeezi are the 2019 Masaza Cup tournament winners after defeating the debutant finalists Busiro 1-0 at Namboole.
Bulemeezi forward Emmanuel Loki scored the only goal on the day that separated the two sides and ultimately handed Bulemeezi the second title ever .
Loki’s winning header came in fourth minute of the extra time following a goalless draw in normal time.
Busiro goalkeeper Adadi Mutumba could have done better to deny the South Sudanese, Loki’s header from going into his net but he recklessly allowed the ball cruised to the net slightly below his gloves.
At the end of proceedings, Bulemeezi were able to lift the prestigious Masaza Cup trophy for the second time in history.
Earlier on, Kyadondo defeated Buddu 2-1 to clinch this year’s third place.
Bulemeezi’s captain Ssekiganda Ronald was named the tournament’s MVP (Most Valuable Player) while Ssese and Vipers’ striker Denis Mwemezi emerged top scorer with seven goals.
Simon Peter Mugerwa coached, Bulemeezi also walked away with 12 million shillings as prize money.
Busiro who finished second got 9 million Uganda shillings.
Whereas, Kyadondo and Buddo who were third and fourth also walked away with 7 and 5 miliions respectively.
There was a scaffold between organisers and fans at the main entrance when the rescue Ambulances were denied entry.
This year’s final was poorly attended as the stadia was half empty un like the previous one and the playing surface was muddy due to heavy rain downpours.
