It will be another fixture on the record when Busitema and UCU rub shoulders in the first leg of one of the quarter-final matches of the Pepsi University League on September 13, 2019.

Uganda Christian University, whose playing squad averages around 20-years has been a scare this season and it will not be a surprise if they pick positive results away at Busitema. However, it’s on record the UCU has not played beyond this stage in the last four season.

In a press conference held on Thursday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo –both institutions’ technical exporters exhibited a desire to advance to the next stage.

“It’s our second time to make it at this stage and every team, here wants to make it to the semi finals.

“We will miss the services of Cyrus Kibande who joined Express FC this season but we made a perfect replacement. We have no injuries and may the best team win,” said Dorothy Namugenyi –the Busitema team coach.

Namugenyi added: “it’s not easy to handle such stages and male teams as the only lady in this league but it takes self confidence and respect.”

Busitema Captain Ronald Omara emphasised that they would make it past their opponent in tomorrow’s fixture.

“The team is fresh and all has been done by the university and this time we have to make it,” said Omara.

UCU Coach Jimmy Kintu explained how tomorrow’s fixture was technically and tactically rare; adding that the odds, his young squad was ready to face any opponent in this way.

“We respect Busitema as an institution, which has grown not only academically but football. I am aware that our player Ivan Serubiri, Muhammad Lubega and Timothy Oyam left to sign StarTimes Uganda Premier League side – URA FC and Police FC, respectively as these clubs pledged to pay their tuition; but still the squad is in shape to go through this level,” said a confident Kintu.

Advantaging from his Masaza Cup experience with Ssingo, Were is expected to rise to the occasion if UCU has to eliminate Busitema.
