LUBAGA North hopeful *Rt. Hon. Kawalya Abubaker* has caught the attention of *Rev. Fr. Timothy* and *Rev. Fr. Frederick Kasereka*, hence anointing him for victory. This was during a requiem mass held this Thursday 27 August, 2020 afternoon in reminiscence of the late *Kiyonga Simon* held at his domicile found in *Lungujja Zone 8*.
When you come in contact with the anointing of God, it not only affects your moment, it also positively reflect on your tomorrow and days to come.
In fact *Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert* aka *Bobi Wine* and *Kawalya Abubaker* are among the few exemplary leaders in Uganda who have demonstrated it to the world that its practically possible in Uganda for one to serve in an elective position for one term and then aim at another position.
*Lubaga North Constituency* has a total population of *190,781* people of whom, *89,003* are male while *101,778* are female and with a total household population of *53,290* families, of whom, *37,128* Homes are headed by males while *16,162* Homes are headed by females.
Breaking this further down, there are *278* Homes headed by children aged 10-17years, *24,083* Homes headed by youth (aged 18-30years) and *2,499* Households headed by older persons (aged 60 years and above).
Such a demographic populace needs a down to earth leader with such a humble beginning to the tune of *Kawalya Abubaker*.
Born in 1984, Kawalya lost his father Hajji Sulaiman Ssempagala in 1990 – at the age of six. More trouble would also come his way three years later when he lost his mother Hafusa Nakabugo of Nkima Clan.
The reigning *KCCA Speaker*, who has just turned 36 this year, had his upper primary education, sitting his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Itendero Primary School in 1998. Earlier, he had gone to Kasubi Modern Primary School for his lower primary education.
He would later proceed to Hawa SS, Naluvule in Wakiso District for his secondary education, completing his O-level schooling in 2002, and earning his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) two years later. It was at this school that the Mayoral Speaker hopeful started whetting his leadership skills, serving as Information, and later Academic Affairs Prefect.
For his university education, Kawalya made it to Makerere, Uganda’s oldest and largest higher learning institution. Here, he juggled his Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (BASS) course with his role in promoting FDC at the university, working in key positions such as Secretary General of the party’s committee at the institution. Majoring in Sociology and minoring in Gender Studies, Kawalya did not only leave Makerere with a second-class upper degree but had also gained more political and administrative skills by the time he graduated in 2009.
Currently, Kawalya Abubaker is aspiring for Lubaga North Member of Parliament and affiliated to the National Unity Platform political party headed by Uganda’s finest Kaygulanyi Robert.
