Time will come when perpetrators will be questioned.
The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga strongly condemned police brutal actions against opposition leaders
On Monday November 4th 2019, police interrupted a planned forum for democratic change (FDC) meeting that was scheduled to take place at Namboole stadium.
As FDC officials were greeting their fans around Kireka on their way to Namboole, police came in full force to stop them claiming that they were disorganising Kireka resident and disrupting their peace and business.
Police went a head and flash heavy to former FDC president Dr. Kiiza Besigye, the water that nearly threw him off his car. A one police officer that has since been identified as Rashid Agero went a head to use his gun to crash the windscreen of Besigye’s car, pulled it the police heavy vehicle among other things done to him during his arrest.
The Katikkiro wondered why police would use such force against a person that did not have even a weapon as small as a matchbox.
“I saw police flashing Dr. Kiiza Besigye with high pressure water that made him fall on his car. What he hit his head on the tarmac and died, what state would the country be in right now?”, Mayoga wondered.
Mayiga went on to caution that actions fuelled by anger cold heartedness and murder are wrong and that people should not think that they will do them and run scot- free saying that, “time will come for them to be questioned to answer”.
Charles Peter Mayinga some time back followed victim of such security organise acts when he together with MP Nambooze and Medard Ssegona were kidnapped by a security agency.
