Ministry of heath in conjunction with Seventh-day adventist church have commenced to teach priests from Seventh-day adventist church across the country on how to fight against Covid19 a head of government’s plan to reopen worship palaces such as churches and mosques.
Its is now almost 6 months since the government declared the closer of worship places in March through president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni across the country due to outbreak of Covid 19 as a measure to fight against its transmission within churches and mosques.
Pastor Matte Daniel, archbishop of Seventh-day Adventists church in Uganda says among the things discussed and agreed upon are they are to use temperature guns, sanitizers, wash in hands, reduce on the number of followers, worship in shifts, no more Sunday schools among others, however he entertained the initiative saying worship should resume in Churches and Mosques to pray God to normalize the situation.
“We are happy with this initiative to teach our church priests on how to observe SOPs amidst negotiations to reopen churches, he said”.
Pastor Alisengawa Jeremiah, executive secretary central Uganda conference of Seventh-day Adventist church says they are ready to resume worshiping but they are likely not to observe SOPs thoroughly because some equipment to use are expensive such purchasing temperature guns, masks among others thus calling upon government to support them buying such machines.Sarah Nyende , woman and education director Seventh day Adventists church says they are observe SOPs while worshiping without fail.
Richard Okwi from ministry of health says they have resolved to teach church leaders how to observe church SOPs as a measure to fight against Covid 19.END.
