NRM DISTRICT, CITY MAYORS ELECTIONS WERE SUCCESSFUL.

The NRM ruling party says city mayors, and district chairperson party primaries elections ended peacefully compare to previous ones despite few various challenges experienced.
This has revealed by party electoral commission deputy chairman saying in the previous parliamentary party elections, there were a lot of violence, alteration of results experienced, destruction if election materials, security operatives being partizan and take party into elections instead providing security which has not observed in these elections.


He says despite some slight destructions caused by heavy rainfall poured in some areas especially Katakwi, Kaberabong, Amuliat, but still all went successful citing out areas of Buyende where former legislator who identified as Mibbito organized some youths on Bodaboda to grab election materials and some tore some but in this incident, 6 motorcycles were impounded, and those who engaged in the violence are on run though police is hunting them.


Kijagi also warned those who declare themselves as party flag bearers on parliamentary seats to stop it because this is illegal saying, in areas of Jinja city, Mbale city, Kagadi, Butembe county, Ntoroko, and Buyaga East are the only areas also elections were conducted where they have not yet been announced flag bearers due to various factors, adding that in Butalejja district, there was a lady who declared herself as a party district legislator flag bearer while the party declared a different person.


He also highlighted that on Monday 14th of September, 2020, they are to continue with parliamentary elections for the only new 36 constituencies, followed by LCIII, and other local levels on 16th of September, 2020, ending with SIGs on various levels from 18th-20th of September 2020.
Meanwhile Kijagi urges security operatives to always create an environment to conduct elections but not be part of it.
