The key suspect in Moses Sekibogo alias Mowzey Radio’s murder has on September 2, been formally charged before the High Court in Entebbe.

Godfrey Wamala aka Troy is among other 40 suspects appearing before Justice Jane Frances Abodo in a criminal session for capital offenders which will last 40 days.

While opening up the session, Justice Abodo has advised suspects who know that they committed the offences not to waste court’s time and resources, by taking the court into a lengthy trial, but should embrace the Judiciary programme of plea-bargain, and plead guilty in exchange for a lesser sentence.

Troy has been sent back to Kigo prison until September 5, 2019 when the trial will start.

According to evidence, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) intends to adduce states that on the auspicious day Troy was seen with the deceased at the De bar drinking, before a scuffle between the two ensued.

DPP also says there is overwhelming evidence placing Troy at the scene of crime and exhibits such as telephone print-outs of calls made before, during and after Radio’s death and a sketch plan of De bar where the fight took place on January, 22, 2018.

Mowzey Radio died of a head injury at Case Hospital in Kampala on February 1, 2019, following a brawl at De Bar, a popular hangout in Entebbe Town, on January 22, 2018.

Prosecution alleges that on January 22 while at De Bar in Entebbe, the accused beat up Mowzey and pushed him to the ground which caused his death later on.
