Cranes resume training ahead of CHAN qualifiers.

Having returned to Kampala on Sunday, July 21s-2019, the Uganda Cranes resumed training ahead of their CHAN 2020 qualifier against Somalia.

The Cranes were on Regional tour last weekend, where they lost 1-0 to Kirara on Saturday.

In the training on Monday, it was mainly characterized by recovery drills, ball work and transition.

During training, Patrick Kaddu withdrew with what looked like a thigh problem although the extent of the injury is yet to be known.

The KCCA FC striker fell onto the deck after making a run and after having a doctor attend to him, he walked off and never returned.

Once again, only 23 took part in the session with the KCCA FC players who won the CECAFA Kagame cup yet to arrive in the country. However, the 7 players in question are expected to join training on Tuesday.

Speaking after Monday’s morning session, assistant coach Livingstone Mbabazi noted that the team is progressing well and will be good to go come Saturday.

“We are happy that we are making good progress in terms of preparation. Said Mbabazi.

They will then continue their preps with a double session on Tuesday before playing Proline FC in another build-up game on Wednesday morning.

Uganda is preparing to take on Somalia in the first round first-leg of the CHAN 2020 qualifiers on Saturday, July 27th in Djibouti.

The second leg will take place the following week at Lugogo.
