Singer, songwriter and award winning producer Andre Ojambo mostly known as Daddy Andre, is currently in the hot sup after a woman identified as Atim Dorah accuses him of child neglect.
The latter, in a TV interview revealed that Andre made her pregnant in 2011 and she gave birth to his daughter in 2012. She expressed her disappointment in Andre who she says has never seen his daughter since she was three-months-old.
She shared that she is apparently financially incapacitated and all she demands is for the ‘Kukyookya’ singer to take care of his 8-year-old daughter who is currently living in the worst condition with her grandmother in Gulu.
In a phone call conversation between the two, Andre didn’t deny knowing or meeting Dorah. He, however, seemed least interested in hearing what Dorah had to say and asked that she should not bother him again until the DNA test is confirmed.
“Get me your number, I will call you and you take your child for a DNA test. I don’t want you to bother me again when I haven’t even confirmed if the child is mine. You should first confirm the DNA. I will call you when I am ready and when I have the money for the DNA test,” Andre said in a phone call.
According to Atim, Daddy Andre asked her not to abort the pregnancy and he gave her some money at the time but ever since the child was born, he has never really showed responsibility as the father and always avoids her despite her several effort to reach him.
“I met him at the Railway Quarters in Nsambya. I had a friend there, her boyfriend was a friend to that producer, by then he was a producer. I got pregnant in 2011 and I told him. He told me not to abort. By then he didn’t have money and he would give me about Shs5,000, sometimes Shs1,000, sometimes nothing at all,” she emotionally shared.
When asked to confirm whether the child is really Andre’s, Dorah revealed that she is indeed Andre’s daughter because he even named her Ojambo Nekesa when they visited him at his studio in Nsambya.
“Andre is the father of my child, he even named her the name, Ojambo Nekesa City,” she revealed.
This news comes just days after the producer visited lover Nina Kankunda a.k.a Nina Roz’s parents to make their relationship official and known.
Daddy Andre is not the first local celebrity to be accused of child neglect. Singers Beenie Gunter, Geosteady, Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, John Blaq and several other musicians have been down the same road.
